Xetava Desert Arboretum Foundation
MISSION STATEMENT: Educate the general public about native plants and plants appropriate for xeriscape gardening.
The objectives are:
- To provide a place where people can come to celebrate and enjoy the beauty that can be found in the local desert flora.
- Provide the general public self-guided tours of clearly labeled plants.
- To serve as a resource on xeriscape landscaping for local residents.
- To assist the "Kayenta Planning Committee" in selecting plants for xeriscaping and in reviewing landscaping plans for Kayenta residents.
In addition, the Foundation sponsors the "Desert Bloom" Festival the first weekend in May. The proceeds from this event are used to enhance and expand the garden.
